Freezing rain last night left the trees magnificently covered in ice and frost this morning. It was quite a sight to wake up to - definitely perking up an otherwise cold, wintry, gray day.
Later on, while at the doctor (I'm still battling the flu), she said that many struggle physically and psychologically during this time of year when the weather is dismal and we see so little sun.
It's true that in the dead of winter when all is gray and lifeless, it can be hard to stay hopeful.
I have no "magic" formula except for this:
"God is our refuge and strength,
an ever-present help in trouble."
Burrowing into my Father's refuge while I'm sick is the safest place of all. It's there I find rest, comfort, strength and peace.
It's there that I know...He is God.
Today, may He be your refuge too. Whether you're facing a gray, gloomy day, troubled by something, facing difficulty, or lacking in some way...may you find all you need in Him.
