While here in Moab, we visited Arches National Park, which looks like alien land! I have never seen anything like this. How did those arches form?? Of course there are scientific explanations/speculations for it, but I like just marveling at how amazing they are.
It's crazy because there are sections of the park that look like desert, with the La Sal mountains looming in the background.
And then you stumble upon rock formations like this. I'm curious what you think it looks like?
It looks like the three wise men to me! |
Do you see those little figures in the arch? They're having way too much fun together!
Delicate Arch in the background is the most photographed arch in the park, sitting out there all on its own. Pretty cool!
We hiked into three different sections of the park to take in the views...do you see that arch? It's got the biggest span of all!
Loved capturing some of the other beauty out there in the desert! :)
Claire had the wide angle lens on her camera so captured this one of the three of us, since there wasn't anyone else around to take a picture for us!
She was sweet to get one of Dave and I too, with those beautiful rocks as our backdrop!
As the sun began to set, and we headed out of the park, I had Dave pull over to the side of the road so I could jump out and grab this one before the light faded just seconds later!
And then the sun set on another day in Arches National Park!
Claire has an amazing blog post from our day there too. Check it out HERE!
INCREDIBLE! It reminds me of Garden of the Gods in Colorado Springs. They literally come out of nowhere and look much like these formations you saw. Like you said, it reminds me of the creative God we serve!
ReplyDeleteAnd I couldn't help but notice how adorable you look in the striped shirt. (Leave it to me to notice your clothes as much as God's creation! Tee-hee!)...
The Three Wise Men was my first thought! And in-between the two on the right, it kinda looks like a dog's head.....
ReplyDeleteReminds me of Garden of the Gods as well.
Grace & I just studied these in our 9th grade Earth Science curriculum. Love that you're seeing them in person. There are some beautiful ocean arches as well…think you'll get to see those on this trip?!
