A Precious Friend and a Rabbit

Nearly six years ago I met Ingrid. We formed a friendship at her organic cafe in our little town of Frydlant. Over cups of coffee we talked about life, our kids, and Jesus.

She put her trust in Him and a lifelong sister relationship began between us.

Fast forward to today when we met up at Starbucks in Ostrava for a nice long catch up over coffee and tea.

Through the years as our hearts bonded, we have spent hours in conversation and prayer, laughing, crying and sharing our hearts with one another as we learned all sorts of details about each other - what we like and don't like, what makes us happy, what brings a smile, what we are passionate about. 

As we talked today, we spoke again about how our greatest desire in life is to grow in deeper faith and trust in Jesus. And yet we are aware that faith most often grows and deepens in the hard times, when you are desperate for Him. 

No one I know has clung more tightly to Him than her. I admire and deeply enjoy how she walks so intimately and daily with Jesus.

And no one I know is more generous then Ingrid! If she could, I think she would give away everything she owns! 

Which brings me to a very meaningful gift she gave me today.

This is a Maileg rabbit from Denmark. 

You may not recognize or know about these, but it means the world to me that she blessed me with one!!

These handcrafted rabbits are part of a collection of toys from a Danish company started in 1999 by Dorthe and Erik Mailil. There is just something so special about them, as Ingrid and her kids will tell you! When she started a collection for her kids a few years ago I was enchanted and thought about getting one someday.

Now I have one of my own!

While Maileg makes other toys and things, both Ingrid and I are most enchanted by their rabbit and bunny collection. You just can't help but fall in love with these winsome little creations. 

She even bought a dress for mine (as well as the darling candle holder that makes my rabbit look especially cute here at Starbucks!).
