A Trip, A First and A Request

It's nearly midnight and I've just returned home from Krakow where I dropped Dave off at a hotel for a few hours sleep. He's got a 6 AM flight to the States in the morning so it will be a short night, and a long day for him tomorrow.

Over the next two weeks he'll be in Chicago, California, Colorado and Texas as he meets with foundations, churches, donors and others on behalf of JV.

Taken this afternoon, on another beautiful fall day here in Czech

I'm staying home during these weeks.

I've been alone at our house many times over the years, but it's the first time that I'll be here in Europe while the rest of my family is in the US. I'm about to find out what that feels like!

On one hand I've got plenty going on during the days that are ahead so I know the time will pass quickly and I won't be lacking for things to do. Yet on the other hand, it's a new experience for me to be here without anyone from my family.

My request is simply that you'd pray for me.

Pray I will walk closely with the Lord, that I'll be in tune with His will for me each day, and that this will be a rich time of fellowship with Him and others around me while Dave is gone.

Since one of my great loves in life is trying new things, I'm actually excited to see how this time goes!
