Yesterday afternoon a certain dad went to pick up a certain daughter at the airport.
Yes, Claire is here from Chicago, safe and sound!
After making their way from the airport to downtown by bus, they stashed her luggage in a locker near the ferry and spent the rest of the afternoon and evening enjoying the Christmas market and atmosphere in Split.
And there was certainly plenty of that!
While I would've enjoyed going over to pick her up, I knew dad and daughter would enjoy the time together, as always.
Instead I stayed at the house and continued editing my book, a seemingly never-ending project.
However, yesterday I did have a breakthrough on a section that's been my nemesis for two years. I'm not kidding.
I've been praying about it for that long (you know when something just doesn't feel right, but don't know what to do?), and it was yesterday that the Lord finally gave clarity on how to write it. I'm thankful and happy to have finally written through it.
After my day and night of working on it, I happily waited at the ferry late last night, scanning the dock for two arriving passengers.
And finally, we saw each other at the same time. What you don't see are all the trucks and cars coming off the ferry that were blocking the way making it impossible to see them!
It was ever so delightful to wake up this morning knowing Claire was in the house. And even better to see her out on the terrace soaking up some Croatian sunshine.
When Claire left from here this summer we didn't anticipate this is where she would fly back to. But it's ever so nice it worked out that way. She'll get some days of rest, we'll finish up our projects, and all head home together on Tuesday.
"We're all so happy to have you home Claire!"
Oh Connie, so nice to see Claire with you and Dave in Croatia..., this house is absolutely amazing and this possibility to enjoy that beautiful place any time during the year even in winter is fantastic! Looking forward to see you on 24th!!!!!!! Love Ingrid
ReplyDeleteI know I still have a lot that has to happen before December, but I'm so excited to be home again soon! Croatia, Czech - so dear to me.
