He served in his home church, Bethany Evangelical Free in Littleton, Colorado that summer, doing numerous things like teaching at a vacation Bible school. A young girl in his class went home each day, talking about her teacher and what he taught. When the parents met him, and heard what he hoped to do overseas, they committed to pray and give monthly to him.
And they've given to him (and his wife, who eventually came along!) ever since.
Meet Glenn and Carole, faithful friends who have invested in God's work for many years!
It was a joy to have them in our home this week-end, and to show them some of the fruit of their investment all these years.
Through clouds and rain, Malenovice showed off another side of its beauty as we told stories about what God is doing here and around the region in the lives of young people.
Glenn and Carole visited Malenovice shortly after we finished the first renovation of the hotel back in 2001. How fun to share everything that's been built since then!
We couldn't do what we do here without the kindness, generosity, prayers and support of people like Glenn and Carole...and so many of you. Bless you all for standing with us for the sake of the Gospel as it goes out across this region into the lives of young people.
