For the First Time

To wake up this morning to these two here on Hvar: PRICELESS!

I've been waiting for a long time to share this place with my parents, to let them see all the special spots that have woven their way into our family's hearts and memories through the years.

Places like the iconic tree down by the water in Sveta Nedjelja.

And the drive out of the village onto the six kilometer dirt road.

How I loved showing them spectacular views like this, even though the drive to see it IS a bit harrowing!

Since today was such a beautiful day, I brought them into Hvar Town for the afternoon to walk around in the warm sunshine.

At this time of year you never know what kind of weather you'll get. What an absolute treat to be here on a sun-drenched day like this.

This is my mom and dad's first trip to Croatia, a place that our family has been coming to for many years. Seeing them here, in spots where we've walked and spent time, is like a dream come true.

I couldn't help but capture them in every beautiful spot in town, like here looking out to the Pakleni islands.

And here, walking through the old, quaint streets of town.

A trip to Hvar town is never complete for me without a stop at the Pjaca cafe.

While the sun was still bright on our faces, it looked like this as we looked out at the sunset.

SO loved having them sit and enjoy this place I love so much.

I'm glad it's never too late in the day for my dad to have coffee!

I, however, opted for tea!

Before the sun made its final descent, we headed up to the fortress that overlooks the city and harbor.

And from that vantage point, watched a spectacular end to a very special day together.

These are very precious days with very precious people!!
