Getting JV Conference Started

One of my happy little perks each day is clicking on the "Timehop" phone app to see what was happening in past years (it culls through past pictures posted in various places on the internet).

This morning, this popped up from six years ago.

That's my little buddy who was born in Ostrava to our friends and teammates, Brian and Aleisha. He and his twin brother are miracle babies who I've had the joy of watching grow up here.

As it just so happened, I ran into him up at Malenovice today as I arrived for the beginning of JV spring conference!

His hug was the first of many as I greeted a good number of the 280 JV staff and kids who are here for a great week together of our annual spring conference.

Dave has the spent the last 6 months intently studying Psalm 23, and is ready to roll out what the Lord's been showing him. Since I've been hearing his processing over these past months, I'm excited to see how it all comes together into the seven talks he'll give over the next five days.

Our amazing Communications team has been hard at work these past months, preparing all the details that make the conference work, like those beautiful books, stickers, Power Points, graphics, and even cut out sheep for the front display!

Rehearsal in progress this afternoon with one of the groups who will lead us in worship this week 

Dave got us started this evening, intro-ing the series and giving us all a taste of what's to come.

It makes me SO excited for tomorrow when he really gets going with his teaching! I have a feeling it's going to be one of his most powerful series ever.

So thankful for his careful study of God's word, and the way he helps all of us apply it.
