But today was different! How nice it was to fly in over this beautiful landscape.
And who was already here, waiting for me? Dave!
He arrived just an hour before me. After three uneventful flights each over the past 24 hours, it's no small thing to arrive safe and sound. I was feeling very grateful to the Lord to be on this side of the ocean with Dave!
Up to this point in the journey, we'd been in a rental car, multiple planes, airport buses, underground trains, moving sidewalks and elevators. Now we were about to get on yet another mode of transportation.
Yeah, the stretch Hummer limo looked interesting! But no, that's not for us.
These tired bodies lugged all 300 pounds of our six suitcases onto a city bus!
Honestly, it's really not that big of a deal since public transportation works so efficiently here. I actually enjoyed the trip to the Prague train station, looking out the window at the familiar sites I love so much.
If only we'd taken a tram or river boat today, we could've added that to our modes of transportation as well!
We arrived at Praha hlavní nádraží, on the opposite side of the road, which gave a view to the newly renovated main building of the station. Pretty isn't it?!
After hauling all of our suitcases into the elevator, we popped out downstairs where you buy tickets.
While Dave bought them, I guarded! (not really...I still feel safer here in Czech than I do most anywhere else).
Dave figured out how to wheel four of our suitcases at once, including up this long ramp to the train platform.
He nicely let me take the last two bags! |
Stowing six pieces of luggage on the train, without having to heft them up above, is a trick. But Dave did it! I'm giving him the thumbs up for successfully getting us from the airport to the train. And without any stress about it!
With wifi on board the train, I'm posting this while we're making our way across the beautiful countryside. It's gorgeous here...spring has finally arrived!
It feels good to be home.
Welcome home!
ReplyDeleteGlad you made it home! We're heading out from Chicago later tonight....
