There was a lot of beauty in this day.
After a hazy morning where you could hardly see anything, the clouds blew away and the sun came out for a glorious "Golden Hour".
If you look closely in that picture you can see a stone village tucked away up the mountain. Its name is Jagodna (a variation of strawberry!), and at one time it was a functioning village, albeit with no running water or electricity. But our friend's dad and uncle were born up there, as were many others years ago.
Today it's mostly abandoned, except for a few buildings that are in the process of being renovated. It's the ultimate get-away for a quiet life.
Speaking of quiet life...my crazy health journey continued today when I woke with a sore throat, that turned into a raging one by afternoon. We called our same friend tonight to ask where to find a doctor on the island...that will be a first. She told us there is a clinic that opens at 8 about a half hour away.
That's where I'll be in the morning.
I'm posting here tonight because writing is a temporary reprieve from how awful I'm feeling. 😣
But I know...I KNOW...that the Lord's mercies are new every morning, and that even for this I can give thanks. Yes, it's crazy, but I am. He made me and knows me better than I know myself, and obviously this is his best, perfect and yes, most beautiful will for me right now, to be sick and rest. So for that, I give thanks.
But I am a believer in prayer too! So if you're reading this on the day I'm writing it, pray for me please! Pray for healing over the next days before we must travel again.
praying for you! Wow! What a rollercoaster ride your health has been! I'll be in the prayer room at 8 while you are at the clinic. So thankful for all the work you've done to make that such a beautiful resource. Love you dear sister!
