My sister-in-law, Joyce, is here on the island of Hvar with me, spending sister time with me for the first time ever!
While we have been friends for 35 years, and I was even her maid of honor, our lives have been full of family and ministry on, for the most part, different continents for the past 25 years.
I've had her speak at a women's conference in Czech, we've gotten together with our families, and we've prayed for and cheered each other on in life all these years.
And now we get sister time with each other!
Against the backdrop of mostly cloudy days on the island at this time of year, today turned out to be incredibly beautiful! So we headed to Hvar Town to enjoy outside time in this pretty setting.
We were so happy to find a restaurant open right on the riva (waterfront) as tourist season hasn't started yet. But this one was open, and even had its tables outside, ready and waiting for us!
Of course you just can't be here without capturing the gorgeous scenes, even if I've taken this photo a hundred times!
We wandered to the other side of the bay, just as "golden hour" began.
I literally stood in the same spot and just rotated left, right and center to capture the loveliness of Hvar Town.
To the right of the spot I was standing is the riva that continues on around the shoreline, with a view out to the Pakleni islands.
We grabbed a quick sister picture before continuing on our walk!
With blue sky and sunshine overhead, we enjoyed the sparkling water lapping the rocks on this sunny afternoon.
And I couldn't help but get a picture of the water's color...no edits, just the way God made it!
There were only a few people out and about, so I decided to do a timed photo of us out on the pier, rather than ask them for help...but unknowingly took this one, before going on to take the final version!
In the end I probably should have asked someone to take it since the camera focused on the near rock, and we're all blurry!
But it's a memory of a near perfect day spent with my sister in a place I love and treasure!
