Life with Masks

Every five days I make a trip to the grocery store to stock up during this time of lockdown here in the Czech Republic.

The significance of this photo is that usually there is a bridge across the road here at our Frydlant exit! But they're repairing it and it won't be done until November - which means taking a different route than normal when we leave town.

The reality of going to the store these days is that you must wear a mask at all times.

On one hand, it makes me feels safer to have it on, and on the other hand, you just hope/pray that everyone else who is here is well, and that no one is spreading the virus unknowingly.

It felt good to have shopping friends with me today - there is strength in numbers!

Everyone in the store has a mask, so the strangeness of it has worn off now. But the tape on the floor was new to me, signifying the distance you should keep from the person in front of you at the checkout counter.

The three of us went through the same checkout line, with me being last in line so they were patiently waiting for me as I finished!

What's funny about it is...they have waited in this very spot for me time and time again many years ago when they were growing up here in Czech!

I can't remember the last time I went shopping with both Caleb and Claire, but it was sure more fun to do it with them today!
