Prague Spring

Claire and I spent the night in Prague last night, after going to a concert with some of our friends who'd come with us from home.

We all had breakfast together this morning before the other two had to leave for meetings back in Frydlant. Claire and I were taking a later train, so had time to visit our favorite coffee shop here.

Tucked away, right in the heart of Prague, we love coming to Headshot Coffee in Františkánská zahrada (Frantisek's Garden).

It really does seem like spring is on its way here...though I know better than to fully get my hopes up. We've had snow as late as May! So who knows when it will truly arrive. For now, I'm glad we got to enjoy a glorious day here.

We wandered down some new streets, enjoying sights of cobblestone streets and beautifully painted houses.

As we walked toward the train station I stopped to take a picture of this hotel, Zlata Husa. I think this is the hotel my brother stayed in when he visited Prague back in 1985, before the end of Communism. There have been a lot of changes since then, and yet, here stands that same hotel!

As always, Václavské náměstí (Wenceslas Square) is its regal self. That's the national museum straight ahead. I really need to go there since it's recently been renovated!

But for today, it was enough to just get another quick cup of coffee and take a picture on the square before riding the train back home.

Arriving home this evening to this sweet one, made the day complete!

My sweet new granddaughter, Jenna!
