Power Outage

Last night just before we came back over to our house from visiting with David and Katka in our garage apartment where they've been staying the past 10 weeks, the electricity went out.

Dave called the electric company and got a recording that said there was a major outage in a number of towns and cities - one of them being ours.

They said they didn't know how long it would take to fix.

So we made do with the last of the daylight, but once it got dark had to light candles. I felt like a pioneer back in the olden days as I read by candle light!

I'm glad I had a good book to read though! I'm in the middle of the Lord of the Rings series, books I've never read before. Somehow it felt just right to be reading about Middle Earth by candlelight tonight.

The power came back on sometime in the night; we never did hear what caused the major power outage all over our region. But we are so thankful that they were able to fix it relatively quickly!
